Another great option that you can get at a slightly gentler price. The Petrodex Enzymatic Toothpaste is a product loved by many and hated by the rest. We think it’s actually pretty good, but it depends on what you’re looking for in toothpaste.
This particular product comes with poultry flavoring. The taste worked fine for our French Bulldogs, and it was an actual surprise because the product doesn’t have a human-friendly smell. Still, our pups loved it.
It did work after at least two weeks of use to treat our pup’s tartar build-up. In addition, the enzymatic action was noticeable. However, it took a week more to see results with this one (it only took one with Virbac).
Our French Bulldogs liked the toothpaste’s flavoring, and it wasn’t hard for them to accept it. We could say that it is too delicious for them, and that makes it harder to brush their teeth!

It does meet our standards, and the quality it offers is pretty decent. It has (in small print) enzymatic properties that manage to work nicely. It doesn’t disturb French Bulldog’s digestive system and they seem to like the flavor (liver).
This one has amazing whitening properties as well, and you can use it safely along with other products to fight bad breath.
Does it have downsides? Of course! For a product that’s supposed to be a paste, this one comes out slightly watery. It’s still usable but it is not the easiest to apply with a toothbrush.
The best thing about this product is its price. It’s so low that it leaves space in low budgets to get a dental rinse to fight bad breath nicely!
